Lift up to the Lord eight Christians from an unregistered church in Vietnam, who have been jailed for “undermining national unity”. The church members were sentenced to between three and eleven years in prison after being accused of working with an illegal group to establish an independent state for Vietnam’s persecuted indigenous ethnic minorities. One of them is Pastor Nguyen Cong Chinh serving 11 years and his wife Tran Thi Hong has been beaten twice for several hours earlier this year. The Communist government often uses such charges to suppress religious freedom. It is particularly hostile to unregistered churches, which are considered a threat to the regime. Pray for these Christians as they begin their sentences, and ask the Lord to draw near to them and bless them as they suffer in His name. Two others,  named as Nguyen Van Hai (43) and Ngo Van Khoi (53) were given 6 and 7 month sentences in October.
