Pastors Kidnapped in Kaduna State, Nigeria


ICC Note: Three masked gunmen interrupted preparations for Easter worship in Kaduna State, Nigeria Monday, March 21, dragging off three Christian pastors while firing their weapons into the air, Morning Star News reported. The kidnappers are demanding a ransom of 100 million Naira (about 500 thousand dollars). Despite the sadness, the United Church of Christ in Nigeria finds their hope and confidence in Christ, having celebrated Jesus’ resurrection prayerfully for the safety of the three abducted pastors.

3/28/16 Kaduna State, Nigeria (Morning Star News) – Unidentified assailants on Monday (March 21) kidnapped three church leaders at gunpoint in northern Nigeria, Christian leaders said.

The armed men stormed a church prayer camp site in the city of Kaduna, where the pastors were supervising work in preparation for an Easter retreat for their church, the Haddiyar Ekklesiya Kristi A Nigeria (United Church of Christ in Nigeria), said the Rev. Jibrailu Wobiya, general secretary of the body. Abducted were the Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Dziggau, president of the church, the Rev. Iliya Anto, deputy president of the church, and the Rev. Yakubu Dzarma, a retired church leader.
